Roberto
L. Barretto, M.D.
Dr. Barretto received his medical degree from Wayne State University
School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed residency
training in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State
University and the Detroit Medical Center. While at Wayne State
University, Dr. Barretto completed a two-year research fellowship
awarded by the National Institutes of Health, studying inner ear
biology. Dr. Barretto pursued further specialization in Pediatric
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, completing a two-year fellowship
at Children’s Memorial Hospital -Northwestern University in
Chicago, Illinois. He is board certified in Otolaryngology- Head
and Neck Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head
and Neck Surgery. Dr. Barretto is affiliated with Children’s
Hospital of Orange County and is an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at University of California,
Irvine Medical Center. He places a special focus on obstructive
sleep apnea, chronic sinus and ear conditions and disorders of speech
and swallowing and has a personal interest in children with special
needs. As a dedicated Pediatric Otolaryngologist, he strives to
be a leading resource for ears, nose and throat (ENT) disorders
for children and their families as well as primary care physicians.
Dr. Barretto has authored numerous articles in prominent medical
journals, and has been a contributor to academic text books on the
topic of Pediatric Otolaryngology. When not practicing medicine,
he enjoys listening to music, playing the guitar, participating
in outdoor sports, reading, and spending time with his wife and
three children.
